We use
this term to indicate lay people who collaborate in our missionary work
by assisting us in our communication apostolate. They are not our employees,
hence, we do not have an employer-employee relationship with them. Right
at recruitment, we tell them that we are not looking for employees but
for lay mission partners, that is, people who will help us carry out
our mission, accept the invitation to become collaborators and not salaried
employees, agree to undergo formation and to live a good Christian life.
They have no salary but stipend which is more than the minimum wage
law has set, and which are raised according to their performance. They
enjoy certain privileges, such as vacation leave, sick leave, maternity
leave with stipend, 13th month bonus, and other fringe benefits. As
spiritual benefits they share in the prayers and sacrifices of the sisters,
they have recollection two times a year (Advent and Lent), and they
are given human, Christian and Pauline formation. They are enrolled
as self-employed in the Social Security System, but we contribute as
part of the payment as our help to them. |
