Daughters of Saint Paul

Bringing the Bible to Marikinas Poor

To intensify the Bibliya sa Bawat Pamilya project of the Daughters of St. Paul, the Juniors residing in Marikina spent their semestral break by visiting the depressed areas of the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish from October 12-22, 2013 upon the request of the Parish Administrator Rev. Fr. Reynante Tolentino.  They conducted home visits, bible mission, and animation to the choir members of the newly erected Mary, Mother of God Chapel in the parish.

Several families were extremely happy in receiving new copies of the Word of God since they lost their Bibles during the tropical storm Ondoy. Thus, it was a very timely visit for they were reminded how important that the Word of God be present in their homes.

Bishop Francis de Leon, parish priest and rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish,  Fr. Reynante Tolentino, and all the priests in the parish who assisted the sisters during the blessing of the bibles at the different chapels expressed their gratitude to the congregation for reaching out to their parishioners especially to those who are most in need of God’s Word and spiritual nourishment.
