Biblia sa Bawat Pamilya in Basay, Samar

t was January 27, 2013, National Bible Sunday, when the whole community of  Tacloban headed by Sr. Rosalinda Ongcoy, launched the project Biblia sa Bawat Pamilya. It was  preceded by the Bible Enthronement followed by the Eucharistic Celebration in St. Michael, the Archangel Parish church in Basay, Samar, a coral church since 1800’s built on top of a hill. After the Mass, the Enthroned Bible was venerated by the parishioners.

There were two book displays: one in the Parish proper and one in Barangay Buscada, the oldest chapel in Basay (1856) built in coral and limestone. It was the Sto. Niño of Buscada’s Feast and the chapel overflowed with devotees.

During the displays, the Bible Seminar was facilitated by the sisters and conducted  in the Parish church by Fr. Fernan Presillas, Jr., the Archdiocese of Palo’s sought-after speaker on Scriptures and the host of “Lamrag” radio program.

Fr. Andres Pacoli, the pastor of the St. Michael, the Archangel Parish was very collaborative, while the Basaynon parishioners responded positively to the event. The sisters were able to spread 60 Bibles in Winaray.
